I Pledge Allegiance

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."
Jace says this every morning after the Pledge of Allegiance. I kinda like it. You can see why Texans are so proud of this state! We teach them young! We are keeping Jace home today because he was up coughing most of last night and doesn't seem any better this morning. Luckily, it's just a half-day so he's not missing out on much. He's super bummed out though. He has made quite a few new friends this week, gotten his finger sliced during a scissor war (???), and had his spot moved to another table... and so it begins... Jace is such a talker.

Here's a pic of Campbell. She is such a girl! She loves to play dress-up, and *loves* Mom's high heels! {sigh} She's sure growing up fast.
Here's Jace's experience at the bounce house fun zone here in town. He was ALL OVER the place! He loved it, I couldn't get a decent picture cause he wouldn't sit still! He made friends with some of the neighbors and got invited to go to a birthday party last week before school started! Another plus was that they also invited Campbell so we all got to go! They provided pizza and drinks and a d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. cookie cake. YUM! So, here is Campbell's experience at the bounce house fun zone. She screamed almost the ENTIRE 2 hours that we were there. Up until it was time for pizza and cake. The minute I put her in, she was screaming and trying to climb out... We will definitely be taking her back during the day, now that Jace is in school... :) HA!

See ya later, Mom!!

Jace was so-o excited to go to school today! He ran right in to the school, and yelled back," See ya later, Mom!" Ok, someone is ready for Kindergarten! He could NOT wait to get there! I had to run in after him!
Jace outside of his classroom. There is a separate entrance for Kindergartners so it's not so crazy in the morning! Jace picked his entire outfit, down to his shoes! What a STUD! We set his clothes out last night and got his bag ready... he kept telling me, 'Mom, this is so slick!'

Jace out front before we left for his first day. We live close enough that we can walk to school, but today Daddy chauffeured us! We are all a little happy/sad for today to come. I just can't believe I have a little one in school, and now I don't know what to do with all this time! Maybe I'll go teach Campbell to talk!
Jace got settled in really fast! He is sitting right up front, across from Keira so he was totally comfortable going right in! He walked right in, dropped his stuff at his box, and went and found his name at his desk! Mrs. Guzzo remembered his name and greeted us at the door so that was another relief.

He got right to work coloring and saying hello to his new friends. He is such a fun(ny) guy so I know things will go well! He'll make a ton of friends and I'll prolly be getting notes sent home that he talks too much! Like Mother, like Son!

Here is Jace walking in and getting greeted by Mrs. Guzzo! He was thrilled to see her and immediately started telling her about his weekend and the pictures he colored for class. Ahh, school!!!

The BIG day!

Jace standing in front of Eagle Springs Elementary. This school is HUGE!!!!!
Jace got to go to his new school tonight and meet his teacher and some of his classmates! He was so excited all day and it was hard to keep him busy! The pictures on top and bottom of this blurb are of his front door. Definitely some of his favorite characters and books on there!!
Pictured below is the Kindergarten Hall. Just Kindergarten. When I signed Punky up for school I asked if they knew who his teacher was. They said they had just hired a new teacher so maybe it was her. I was thinking maybe 3 kindergarten classes in total... NOPE! 9... nine!... wow!! There were so many kids there tonight! It was really fun and VERY exciting! I just can't believe what a BIG boy my little Jace is!
This is Jace with Mrs. Guzzo (Goo-zoe) his new teacher. It was instant LOVE! She is the sweetest and seems to be such a fun teacher! Jace took right to her, not shy at all! He is going to *love* it!
Mrs. Guzzo is having a meeting on Friday night after school has started to go over plans and start a volunteer classroom thing... who knows, maybe I'll be a room-mom!
Here is Jace at his mailbox. His box is right next to one of his new church friends, Keira (pictured below). It's especially fun because he has a cousin, Kira, right close to his age that is also starting Kindergarten this year!
Jace hanging out in the library with Keira. He immediately went over and found a book to read when we got into the classroom! Mrs. Guzzo was impressed! What can I say, I'm an awesome Mom! heehee!

I'm back....!!!!!

OK, I realize we all look HIDEOUS but I wanted to post up the pics of Campbell's Birthday this morning! She had such a fun time opening presents and loving on her new barbie... she LOVES that thing!

She got some new books, a strawberry shortcake movie, a magnetic dress-up doll, playfood for her kitchen, some play jewelry I made, and a barbie and clothes. This girl loves to dress up. She strips down all her dolls and puts new clothes on them just about every day. She loves jewelry and getting her hair and nails done up. What a girly! She's our little princess and we love her! Happy Birthday Sis!

Having Daddy's Special: Crepes!! I pretty much do all the cooking, but Cam is an expert at crepes! Yum! She's pretending to be a puppy. If you are ever around, have her show you, she's a PRO at playing puppy-dog! She got a cute card and some cash from Grandma that we're going to have fun with today! Grandma knows how good she is at puppy!

Campbell's Loot! She also got a new swing set for her birthday/our new house/fun outside in the backyard from Grandma. They have already played on it a TON and I can't believe I have no pics on my computer of them, It's like their imaginarium! The kids have had so many adventures on it! I'll get a pic up soon!

FHE this past week. We decorated piggy banks last night and set up chores and allowances a little while ago. These were on clearance at Micheal's for $2 each!

Jace's NEW bunkbed! Wehave been looking for a bed for Jace for his new room and couldn't find something we liked for inexpensive, so we decided to make our own. We're crafty! So Cam and I drew up the shape (mostly Cam, he's good at it) and we cut the wood, Jace chose the color, and we painted it, sanded it and put it together! It's not exactly what we pictured, but it's perfect! Both the kids love it and can get up into it, Camp can't get down yet... so we've had a spill and a lot of screaming to come get her...
Tons of adventures to be had! They've played boat, cave, store, pirate, jail, etc...

We've had a busy, milestone-making summer so far!! Cam graduated and started his job, Campbell turned two and sleeps in her own room (if only she could talk! Maybe by the end of summer!), Jace turned five, sleeps in his own room, starts school this week, and one of my proudest moments: Jace learned to swim!!!!! We have been swimming at a few splash parks in our area, and he had been dying to go down the big slide... Somehow I don't have those pics either, can't imagine what happened to them... anyway, two weeks ago he decided he wanted to learn so we took off his floats and he picked it right up! He looks a little like he's drowning, but he's totally moving! He can tread water and keep afloat, and most importantly, he can go down the big slide!!!

Oh, and he can jump off the HIGH DIVE!! Wow! My brave little man!! We've got videos too, but I can't figure that out, I'm no computer nerd!! xoxo, Chelle
