And so it begins...

Today was officially the first busy day that Cameron has had in his new calling.  I knew it was gonna be a time consuming thing, but we've been lucky so far.  Today was meetings and other church responsibilities till about 530, a quick dinner and back out for visits by 630... he thinks he'll be home by 9?  OK, I'm not complaining.  I KNOW our family has already been blessed and I'm grateful for service opportunities.  SO, I guess what I'm saying is, with all this alone time I'm for sure going to be having in the future, give me a call and we can hang out and have our kids play.  One good thing is mostly it will be his Sundays that are full, but he'll be pretty free the rest of the week!

We're Guitar Heroes!!!

We went to the Webster's house last night for some pizza, fun, and a little Guitar Hero! It was so fun! Darrick was amazing at it, and Teri was good too, of course. Cameron picked it up pretty quickly and I was definitely a beginner! We had a blast! We had the boys play together and then the girls played together. Teri and I probably looked better than we sounded, but it was fun!
The kids were so good, and played well together the whole time. We're not sure what they were doing in this picture, but they were totally having a blast together!
Campbell was loving all of Andrew's toys. Anything new, right?!! Andrew was such a good baby and practically slept the whole time we were there, so he's not pictured, darn it!
Darrick is SO GOOD that he can play on his back! I have to be right up next to the TV to get the notes right! Thanks, Darrick and Teri, for a fun night!!

Quick update on Jace

We went to the ENT doctor today for a hearing test / ear check-up and it turns out he only has a minor hearing problem... his right ear has a negative pressure build-up from an ear infection which is causing some pain and a little bit of a hearing problem, and his left ear is full of fluid which is causing slightly worse hearing loss, but both will be cleared up and things will get back to normal! Woot! We go in for a recheck in 3 weeks to just make sure things have cleared up nicely. Whew! That's a relief!

Cub Scouts and Elijah Woods

I'm so proud of Cameron! He's such a good cub scout leader! The Webelos had a Pine Wood Derby this past week and it was so fun! Cameron really enjoys this aspect of scouting! Sorry the pictures are so dark, the lighting in the Cultural Hall is so awful for picture taking!
He also had a boy earn his Arrow of Light so Cameron got to present his award as well. I guess the AL is comparable to getting your Eagle as a Boy Scout, so it's pretty impressive! Cameron was really proud of him.

Here is Cameron with all the little cub scouts. They all made awesome racecars and we had fun watching all the competition. Jace can't wait till he gets to make his own Derby car someday. He was talking about lightning bolts and guns and flags, too cute!

Here is Jace watching Elijah Woods do the Puppet Master on Yo Gabba Gabba's Dancy Dance Segment. We just love that show!!

Who knows why we like it so much, but we totally do!! Enjoy! We're thinking maybe this year we'll be YGG monsters for Halloween! Watch for us! It all depends if we can get costumes done that bring justice to how cool the YGG monsters actually are! Can you tell how much we love them?!!

A few new Projects and an Update

I'm working on a few new things that I hope to have done before month's end.  Curtains for the bookshelf and some new pictures for the dining room.  Then, there are always the ongoing and never-ending projects; blankets, hairbows, scrapbooking and cardmaking... I've got way too many things on my plate!  Why am I always picking up new hobbies?
My kids are doing great!  Jace is loving playing outdoors lately.  We've really had awesome weather!  He's been practicing riding his Christmas scooter and he's getting pretty good.  He's also getting a nice tan like his Mom!!  Here are some of the funny things he's said this week (Keep in mind it was just Easter):  Mom, I have the BIGGEST mouth ever!  /  Mom, see how the chocolate lives inside the candy?  It lives INSIDE!  /  Even if she wants it, we can't give Campbell any candy!!  None!  What a funny kid!  He loved having Cameron home for a week and they played all day and all night long it seems.  They are so cute together and always call each other their best friend!  Aww!!
Campbell is really working hard to crawl!  She's so close, but just not quite strong enough yet!  It's so fun to watch her try, and she gets so excited when she gets up, but at the same time I'm loving this stage, I'm wishing she'd stay a baby (Where has all the time gone?)  Camper also loves to pull herself up on just about everything! Cute!  She's really into all of Jace's toys, his cars and dino's and she wants to be a big part of the action.  Don't dare leave her on the ground at dinner time, she'll definitely have a fit!  What a feisty little 7 month old we've got!  I LOVE IT!!  BOTH my kids are getting big and eating well... Jace gained 2 pounds in about 2 weeks!  Campbell is eating just about whatever we are eating!  Life is good, I can't complain!  I love my family!

Easter

Here are two little sweethearts! McKay and Campbell! Chrissy and I have an awesome plan to hook them up and get them hitched one day! We had Easter dinner with some friends and our kiddies got to play together beforehand!
Here's the CUTEST pic of little McKay! I just love to squeeze and love him! He's definitely a happy-go-lucky person! I can't wait till Camper and Kay can actually go on a real date!
Campbell was way into her new toys! The Easter Bunny did a super good job this year!
Jace and Campbell had fun doing the Easter Egg Hunt thing, but were mostly interested in the toys, not the eggs. Jace DID like opening the eggs though to eat the treats!! We have a fun family tradition of wrapping the candy in foil... I think because we were so poor when we were little and couldn't afford the plastic eggs, anyway, it's a tradition I'll pass on! I *LOVED* how they would sparkle in the sun down in California when I was little! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

We're BAACCKKKKK!!!!!

OK, we took a little break and went out to New Mexico to check it out a bit. We liked it and had fun, but we're definitely glad to be home! It's always nice to get back to your life! We had an interesting ride home. About an hour out of Colorado, we hit a dead stop in the traffic (The traffic was nonexistent till this point) So we got out of the car and had a good long stretch. the truck a few cars back from us had horses so they brought them out and Jace got to pet this one, so we took a couple pics... anyway, we were out there for at least 30 minutes, probably more, just wondering what was going on, making some friends, sharing snacks, etc. So this is what we eventually found out from some EMT's parked behind us who were listening in on a radio:
There was some minimal construction going on on the road somewhere and someone saw a suspicious looking package in the road with a bunch of wires sticking out of it. So the bomb-squad was called in, the traffic was stopped a mile back from the box, and they took care of the situation. I wish we had thought of getting a picture of all the cars lined up. There were so many!
Here is a zoomed in shot of one of the guys' bomb protection gear. We saw another guy still suited up, but we were too slow with the camera and couldn't get a good shot.
Same picture 3 times, just zoomed in... The guy that was fully suited was to the left of the squad car, behind another car. It was pretty neat to see and Jace had a blast running around on the highway! When I can figure out the slide show thing I'll post some more pics... it's awful to just put 10 pics up in line, I need a slideshow!! OK, give us a call, we're glad to be home and want to do something fun before the break is over!!

Trying some new stuff...

OK^ this ^ one is VERY boring, but I was trying some new techniques I read about, changing colors of images and photos and resizing... Next I'm gonna figure out how to add journaling to the page with my own fonts... it's a bit difficult but once you've got it down, piece-a-cake!
Look how much hair Campbell used to have! All her baby hair has pretty much fallen out, but it's growing back in and we think she's still as cute as ever!
The family is all doing well. We have been enjoying the AWESOME weather the last few days and now we're gearing up for another little winter storm.
Jace's Primary talk went so well! He was totally brave and he spoke loud and clear for everyone! Campbell's newest trick is to sit up and then flop forward to get on her tummy so she can practice CRAWLING!! She doesn't quite have it down yet, but she's so close! We love watching our kids do amazing things (in our eyes!)

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig

We got home last night and we're so glad to be back! It's hard to be away from home, but it was fun, too! We all went to bed early and now we're starting to get back to normal! We're doing the unpacking/laundry thing today... boring!! Jace has his first talk in Primary on Sunday and we're getting ready for that as well! I can't wait to see him up there teaching the scripture stories! It'll be so cute! OK, as soon as I get another spare minute, I'll be uploading some pics of our week!

A quick one...

We've been on vacation (If you call going to Cali with my two kids on my own a vacation)... OK< let me start over, Cameron has been on vacation this week. Since we've been in CA, I've lost my voice, Jace has gotten a cough and lost his voice and Campbell has...
drum roll please...
CONJUNCTIVITIS. OK it's not << that bad sounding, she has PINK EYE, but the poor little thing, she can hardly see out of her left eye and it's starting to get in her right eye. Very soon, she'll have it in both. Poor thing! SO, we'll be headed home tomorrow and be back in Colorado on Wednesday night. We've had a good time otherwise, we went to the beach, had a few FUN parties for family, and lived it up OUTSIDE in the warm sunny California weather! Hooray! I'll post pictures when I get home! Love, Chelle
