Boo, Hiss!!

And now I know why the kids were too cold to stay out in the rain... same day pics!! ICK!! The car was cleaned off halfway through the day and here's the car after 5 pm...A little while after we played out in the rain it started snowing, and it hasn't stopped snowing ALL afternoon and tonight. We really don't like snow in this house so we're a little bummed. Go figure, I packed all the snow gear away just YESTERDAY!!
We took the screen off the window in the upstairs bedroom so the kids could catch cotton ball-sized snowflakes... no worries, we didn't pull a Michael Jackson!!

Rain rain, stay forever!!

I LOVE the rain!!! I cannot get enough of it! Who doesn't, right?!! When it rains, I am flooded with memories of childhood, sitting at the window and watching the drops slide down the window, stomping in puddles, getting completely soaked and then having a warm bubble bath... popcorn and your favorite movie by the fire, playing in the mud after the rain stops, or even while it's still going, power outages... I have such great memories of playing out in the cold, wet, rain...
I'm trying to be a better Mom and let my kids experience it like I did. They didn't get that into it. It was too cold, too wet, Camper's bum is soaked from sitting on the front steps. Jace did a little exploring and found a couple roly-poly's, as well as a nasty dead RAT with a super long tail that was chewed in two... ugh! Blech!

Now the kids are safe and warm, snuggled up in front of the TV with popcorn and a movie they got for Easter. Like they say, April Showers Bring May Flowers! Happy Rain!!!

Easter and St. Pat's

We had our annual Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt at the park last week. The kids loved it. It was a nice warm day and tons of friends showed up! My kids found tons of fun treats to eat!

Here's a pic of the kiddies with one of their BEST friends, Kennedie. Showing and checking out each others' stash!
Jace has so-o-o-o much energy! They played Simon Says, Red light, Green light, and Red Rover with some of the Mom's, while the rest of the Mom's hid the eggs! I *love* the expression on Jace's face below. He is so happy running, being outside and playing with his friends! Oh, the life of a child!

Here are some oldies, but goodies from St. Patrick's Day.
Jace loves his cousin, Hallie. We all only met this school year, but we love having them here!

All the food had something green about it. It was a really fun day!

Birch Music Faves

For those that turn off the music when they blog travel... I added a new song to our music list that our family *loves* We listen to it just about everyday. Jace knows ALL the words. Anyway, that song is Lucky, Jason Mraz. He is such a good songwriter/singer. Anyway, all the songs on our playlist are family faves. When Ruby comes on, both my kids go nuts! It always puts a smile on our faces, in fact, if we ever have another girl, I'd bet the name would be a BIG contender... anyway, head on down to the bottom of the blog, sit back and enjoy the music!

What have you been up to lately?!!

Here are the kids sleeping together the other night. They move all over the place and wake each other up, so we always move Camp back after they're asleep.

Here was our snow day sometime last week, can't remember the exact day, but it was so nice out and the snow was a few inches deep, so we stayed out for like 3 hours!

Recently, Campbell has fallen in love with make-up and dress-up. She *loves* to have her hair done, to put on a dress and twirl around, and especially to put on her own make-up. I have found her like this a few times in the last two weeks! These pictures were of Camper using my eyeliner... Yesterday she used my waterproof mascara and I couldn't quite get it all off. :)

Here are a few pictures of our theme dinner! To reward my kids for eating well, we have started to do a theme dinner at the end of each month. It got postponed for about a week, but it was still fun!
Obviously, we did a luau. The kids loved it! We played Hawaiian themed music from the TV, ate Hawaiian Haystacks, and had colorful popsicles for dessert... doesn't take much to please these two!
At the end of dinner, we each got lei'd! Sorry, no pics of that... but thank goodness for the Dollar Tree! There are tons of things to use for upcoming theme dinners!
Here is a recent pic of the kids helping make dinner. They have really taken to helping out and I love having their help! It has also gotten them to eat better which is GREAT!
